Eastbury Horticultural Society

The Society was founded in 1970 for all interested in gardening, whether you are a beginner or an experienced gardener. It is affiliated to the Royal Horticultural Society. Residents from Eastbury, Moor Park and Batchworth Lane areas of Northwood are invited to become members.

Annual membership costs £3 per household and currently there are around 200 member households.

On winter evenings we meet each month at Eastbury Farm School, when invited speakers give talks on various gardening topics. These talks are free to members. These are followed by tea and coffee to give us a chance to socialize. A cheese and wine party follows our A.G.M. in April.

At other times, coach trips are arranged to private and National Trust gardens and we hold bring-and-buy plant sales and an Annual Show. Seeds may be bought at a discount through the Society and some local garden centres offer discounts to us.

If you decide to join, please click on the link below to print out the Application Form below and return it with £3 to:

Eastbury Church

You may not realise that there is a church service every Sunday morning right in the middle of the Eastbury estate. It takes place in the Eastbury Farm School hall which at 10am becomes a church for an hour.

This friendly offshoot from Emmanuel Church in Northwood’s High Street was set up in 1997, to provide a Church of England presence in the Eastbury area. The church meets every Sunday at 10am in the school for a service of worship. Half way through, children and young people move to groups specially designed to meet their needs and at the end everyone meets together for refreshments and fellowship. In addition to the Sunday service there are week time activities for youngsters and adults.

Our aim is to make the presence of Jesus Christ a living reality in the community and we welcome those of any faith or none to our activities. One person who is now a regular member of Eastbury Church said, ‘we came along because it was so friendly’.

Interested? Then do come along one Sunday to join in. For further information, contact our minister, the Revd Helen Wilkinson, on 01923 829163 or by e-mail on helen.wilkinson@ecn.org.uk or click here to visit our website.
